3D Panoramas.
by Richard
Here’s one of the best uses of QuickTime VR I have ever seen. This website is full of panoramic images that wrap all around you, from New Years in Times Square to the middle of a desert in Australia and a lot in between. You can look up, down and all around, and sometimes the panoramas are even accompanied by sounds from the scenery.
Some faves of mine:
Times Square from the top
Berlin Ice House
Blue Mountains Australia
One Eleven Records is an indie label out of Florida whose roster includes Jinxed, Mashlin, The Spill Canvas, Rory, Rookie of the Year, Thin Dark Line and This Day and Age. They’re giving free music away for a day to celebrate One Eleven Day. Check the music out here, as it’s only available today.

Great links!
However, I hate to disappoint you, but the one from the middle of the desert in Australia is actually only about a mile from the western coast. :) It’s called the Pinnacles Desert. I’ve been there – very cool.
