Their tagline says it all… “We podcast bands coming to your town.” Podbop lets you subscribe to a feed of the music of bands that are coming to your area. This allows you to discover new music in a way that you might not be able to if you searched for bands coming to your area by yourself. It automates the process of finding new bands to check out live. Normally you’d have to keep up with ticketing sites to see who’s coming to your area, and then you’d have to find their website and listen to their music from there, if it’s available. Podbop pushes the music to you, so you don’t have to do any real work at all… just listen and maybe you’ll find a band coming to your town that you’ll really enjoy. Oh, and you can also just go to the site, type in your city and state, and have it find music for you that way too. Pretty cool.
