la la.

Featuring an odd name that doesn’t really tell you anything about what it really is, LaLa looks like a pretty cool idea. Basically, it’s a cd swapping website in the vein of Netflix that allows you to put CDs up for trade and receive CDs in return that are on your wish list. Once you get past the eye-watering brightness of the home page (why did they put such an ugly color up front?), you can browse or search the site for whatever artists/CDs you’re looking for, for $1.50 per trade.

Doubtful that they’ll have your favorite obscure artist in their selection? I was. They did, though. That was quite surprising. (I won’t say who that artist is because it’s somewhat embarassing that I liked them back in the day, and still do now :))

A few years back, someone stole about 200 of my favorite CDs right out of my car. This sounds like a very cost-effective way to get some of those CDs back There’s even a money-back guarantee that the CDs will be in fine playing condition, so if this sounds interesting at all to you, you should definitely give it a shot.

I will have to check out this site after work, see if I can get ahold of the Talk Show CD again. Its a pretty obscure album…youd probably like it. I found it once in a used section of Music Warehouse, but then my CDs got jacked too.

Speaking of the Deleo brothers (thats the guitarist and bassist from Stone Temple Pilots, for those that don’t know…Talk Show was their side project while STP front man was in prison)….they teamed up with the lead singer of Filter and formed the band Army of Anyone….I cant wait for that stuff to come out.

La La has announced they are now going to give something like 20% of the profit they make of every trade directly to the artists. Pretty cool of them.
