iSkin ProTouch.

Design, Gifts, Useful Things by Richard

I’ve been playing with an iSkin ProTouch for my MacBook Pro for the past week and a half, and I must say that it is a very well designed, simple product that does exactly what it’s advertised to do. It’s a silcone barrier that protects your keyboard from pretty much whatever you throw at it, which is especially good for laptops, because you can’t really swap keyboards out too easily. It also dampens the sounds of your keys going clickity-clack while you type. I didn’t think my keyboard was noisy until I put the iSkin on it and found out what it’s like to type in complete silence. The ProTouch makes your keyboard feel slightly different, but after typing on it for a day, you probably won’t notice it. The only downside I’ve found to the ProTouch is that you’ll quickly figure out just how dirty your work environment is, because the iSkin will catch everything. All you’ve got to do to clean it off is run it under some water, and it’s as good as new.

The iSkin ProTouch comes in your choice of 4 colors: Frosted clear, blue, pink, and green, and is available for $29.95.
