The Perfect Human.

by Richard

I followed this link on a whim today and ended up reading/enjoying this whole article. Dean Karnazes is a man who runs a lot, eats a ton (during a race) and barely sleeps. I can’t say it better than this excerpt from the article: “He covered 350 miles without sleeping. (It took more than three days.) He ran the first and only marathon to the South Pole (finishing second), and a few months ago, at age 44, he completed 50 marathons in 50 consecutive days, one in each of the 50 states. (The last one was in New York City. After that, he decided to run home to San Francisco.)”

This guy truly pushes the limits of what the human body is capable of. And to think, it all started when he just got aggravated with life and went for a jog.

    Reminds me of Forrest Gump…

Forrest Gump: That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I’d just run across the great state of Alabama. And that’s what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I’d gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I’d gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going.
