Interactive Weather Map.

Man, this post marks a real first for FreshArrival. I’m actually linking up a page on Weather.com! If you haven’t seen this yet, you haven’t seen the best weather radar experience that I’ve ever come across. We were hit this afternoon by a freak storm, and I wanted to know if it was going to be raining for awhile, if the worst was behind us, or if there was going to be a break in the rain soon (I’d left my umbrella in the car, and it was parked at the very end of the parking lot.)

I went to Weather.com to view the local radar, and I found this new weather map. It uses Microsoft’s Virtual Earth and radar information to create a map that shows you where it is raining, the intensity of the rain, and where the breaks in the rain are…and since this information is laid over a Virtual Earth map, you can zoom all the way down to the street level to get a very clear picture of exactly what is going on outside. I found it to be very accurate, in my limited use today… When there was red over my street, it was raining cats and dogs, and the wind was kicking up a storm… when I looked at it about an hour later, there was a break in the rain right above the street that I was on, and so I walked outside… no rain. Beautiful.
