Popchips.

by Richard

I came across these a few days ago, and thought they looked both healthy and potentially tasty. Popchips are chips that aren’t baked or fried, but popped. Even after reading the description on their website, I’m still not sure how they get chips to pop, but hey, it seems to work! There are 9 flavors available, and they’re available both in 8 different supermarkets and online.

They’re also all natural! From their website: “Our all-natural pledge: no fake colors, no fake flavors, no preservatives, no fluorescent orange fingertips, and no wiping your greasy chip hand on your jeans. No, really. We only use ingredients you can feel good about eating. And we leave out the bad stuff, like hydrogenated oils and msg, that give snacking a bad name. Because popchips™ brand chips have no preservatives, make sure to get a good chip clip after opening the bag to keep our popped chips fresh. Or better yet, just eat them all at once.

I haven’t had the chance to try any of these for myself yet, but I definitely will pick some up as soon as they’re available in Whole Foods or some other local store we actually have around here. If they’re half as good as advertised, I might’ve just found a new chip!

You know, Richard, stuff like this gets me thinkin’. How many new foods and products have you acquired because of this site?

  2. Richard Says:

? I don’t understand what that question is about. In the post I said that I’ve not seen them or tried them, but that I will look for them in a store when they start selling them around here. I haven’t actually acquired the chips at all :)

natural flavors and natural smoke flavor are both CHEMICALS. these people are posers and manipulators like all others who use “natural flavors” in their products.

  4. Richard Says:

    Alrighty then. I stand corrected.

i love your site. i check it everyday and have discovered truely amazing things here! didn’t mean to be rude. i just have a thing against “natural flavors/flavorings”.

popchips are awesome! Bought a bag at Safeway. Really tasty – the line on the bag says “Never Fried. Never Baked.” and with no preservatives and no saturated fat (bbq) – who cares how they pop them.

@herminette: Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you like FreshArrival! I didn’t take offense to your comment, so no harm done :)

Heh, what I meant was: You’ve shown and reviewed many different foods and other products, because of this website. I was basically asking how much stuff you’ve gotten through FreshArrival.

popchips are sooo yummy!!! I love tht they are not fried and do not have transfats, yet they still taste good. BBQ is my fav, but all 9 flavors are delicious! I bought mine at Safeway too, and they were on sale :)
