KT Tunstall: Drastic Fantastic.

Entertainment, Music, Reviews by Richard

I was first introduced to the musical stylings of Scottish-born KT Tunstall while watching the short-lived TV drama “Conviction” last year, when I heard “Other Side of the World” playing over a scene from the show. I became an instant fan of hers after that, and soon became the proud owner of her debut CD.

You may have seen her around more and more lately, most recently at the end of the last Apple Special Event, where she constructed an entire song with effects and background vocals live, with only a couple of guitar pedals. It’s well worth watching, if you haven’t seen it… she’s at the very end of the video.

Drastic Fantastic is the second major label, full length disc from Tunstall. It came out yesterday, and I’ve had a chance to listen to it for a couple of days. I’m loving it! It’s a solid followup to her previous effort, and she really changes her

Since she’s on a major label, I’m not allowed to stream a track from her CD here on FreshArrival like I normally would, but here’s the video for “Hold On”, the first single from Drastic Fantastic (Quicktime required). You can listen to samples of the music on both of her albums here (my favorite so far from Drastic Fantastic is “If Only”, if you’re interested.) You can also pick up the album here or at any other major music retailer.
