ScanCafe.

by Adam

ScanCafe is a company based in Burlingame, CA and Bangalore, India (right next to GE’s India headquarters) that specializes in digitizing slides, negatives, prints, newspaper clippings, and letters for archival purposes. They give great high-resolution scans starting at 19ยข a piece for a color negative. Their price and service far surpass their competitors, and I’ll tell you what I think about their quality after I get my slides back from them in about a month. Every image is hand edited, color corrected, and dusted in Photoshop by their image technicians. You can send in as many pictures as you want (they’ll scan them all) and you get to choose which ones you want to keep, so you don’t have to go through all of the negatives or slides.

I’m very excited about this new service. While I have always been cautious about sending my photographs to other people, I’ve been feeling confident with ScanCafe.
