Crate and Barrel apparently sells a convertible compact desk that I think is really nifty. When closed, it looks similar to a chest of drawers, but when opened, it’s got lots of storage and a good sized work surface. At $500, I’m sure I’ll never buy one of these (right now I’m actually using a rectangular dining room table as my desk.. it was free & large, and that was good enough for me.), but I really appreciate the design that went into this thing.
