Cocoon Innovations.

by Richard

Although the exterior style of their bags doesn’t quite fit my taste, I think that Cocoon Innovations has something really cool going on inside of their bags with their new GRID organizational system. I can’t believe that no one’s come up with anything like this before (or maybe they have and I’ve just never seen it). Basically, it’s just a system of elastic bands woven together into a grid so that you can fit just about anything into your bag. Instead of having a fixed number of pockets to put your various accessories in, you’ll easily be able to find a spot for everything in your bag. They really should license this out to other companies!

My guess for the reason you don’t see this elsewhere is that elastic bands tend to fray and break rapidly under consistent use. If you put your wallet, cell phone, ipod, notebook, whatever – anything that you would need to grab in and out a couple times a day – this piece will probably only last you a month or two before the straps break and you wind up throwing all the junk in there like a regular bag.

Cool. Kind of like a jacob’s ladder in wallet form.
