ZÜCA Pro: The Review.

Design, Travel, Useful Things by Richard

The ZÜCA Pro is nothing short of amazing. So much can be packed into this thing! As with most great products, it was developed to solve a personal need. This one was developed by a mom/dad whose daughter had severe back pain from carrying around heavy books all the time. It’s essentially a locker in a bag, which lets you fit a lot more into the same amount of space that you’d normally have, while keeping things well organized. Basically, there’s a series of 5 “drawers” that you can pull out, and a TSA compliant toiletry bag as well.

I’ve had a set of luggage for awhile and been in and out of airports with it without much of a problem, but I didn’t know what I was missing! The ZÜCA Pro’s wheels are made of polyurethane, which absorbs shocks, and they glide smoothly and silently. That makes a big difference if you’re walking the length of some large airport to catch a flight. The handle (made of aircraft-grade aluminum) telescopes to a full 41 inches in height, which is taller than any comparable bag that I’ve used. The ZÜCA Pro itself, however will fit easily into an overhead bin.

One of the coolest features is that the bag is surrounded by a metal exoskeleton which lets you use it as a seat. You’ll never have to look for a place to sit again if you have this bag with you. Having the support for the bag on the outside also allows for more room to store things inside. Another cool side effect of having the frame separate from the bag is that you can take the bag off of the frame and wash it if you need to.

Check out this video for a great overview of the ZÜCA Pro’s features. The ZÜCA Pro is available in black/silver or pink/silver and retails for $285. That’s comparable to the price you’d pay for any good luggage this size, and you get so much more with the ZÜCA Pro that it’s almost a no-brainer. Definitely check it out next time you’re in the market for a great carry-on bag.
